A Seventh Cut and new Composer
Drifter Fans,
They say on the Seventh Day God rested... well on our Seventh Cut of the film we are doing no such thing. After logging in about 500 hours of work the film is finally ready to receieve a much needed sound check as we hand over footage to The Drifter's newest team member Kenny Redding Jr.
Our new composer Kenny Redding Jr. is no stranger to scoring a scene. He's currently touring the world with the popular stage show Intergalactic Nemesis. Every night he's given the challenge of composing score live in front of audiences while our own Christopher Lee Gibson stretches his talents to voice over four different characters in the same show.
We're happy to have Kenny on board helping us bring you even closer into the world of the Drifter. What's a peek into the mind of a stranger without his own inner melody to guide you?
We can't wait to see what Kenny's cooking up for us.
Here at Drifted Pictures we're about bringing you the best we can offer and part of that means never rushing on anything. We take our time to re-write our script seven times, film a scene for more than seven takes and edit picture for more than seven cuts... whatever it takes to simplify our story to its core. However, we're not above due dates and we're working hard to get ourselves in line for the Sundance Film Festival Due Date of July 29th.
So wish us luck on our newest goal and we may even have a trailer out at the same time.
Thanks, and keep on Drifting.
May 1st is approaching fast and there is some exciting news about Drifter!
As of today, I have logged 67 hours of editing just this week alone, and it has lead to a completed 4th cut of The Drifter, currently standing at 104 minutes! Also, 133 hours of editing logged since January, and 450+ hours since post-production began last September.
After all of this hardwok, I'm finally assembly the large pieces and I can't even describe the joy of seeing the film come together as a whole. End of this week begins in Cut 5!
Cast, Crew, Family, Friends... private screenings start soon, I need your feedback. :) As always, thank you for your continued love and support.
I have the festival circuit in my sights!
Also, another important update: As Director, Producer, and Editor of The Drifter, it has been an extremely difficult task to find the time to update all of our fans on the progress of the film, as you can see from the scarcity of blog posts in the recent past. I should have given this responsibility to someone a long-time ago, but I continued to try and keep up... I am proud to announce, that co-writer, co-creator, and production designer Danny Bellini, will be taking over this blog and keeping everyone up to date from now on!
The Drifter is coming soon, stay tuned. - Craig

Over 90 Riveting Minites Completed
Drifter Fans,
Haven't posted an update in while due to being hard at work on The Drifter edit! Originally, my goal was to have a completed first cut in the first week of November. Now that the time is creeping up on 1 month past that date, I'd like to shed some light on the project... Technically, an entire 1st cut is not yet comeplete, HOWEVER, many of the most important scenes in the movie have been worked over to their 2nd, 3rd, even 4th cuts individually. As an editor, I like to go back and polish certain segments before moving on to new ones. As of today, there is about 95 minutes of the first cut complete, with about 15 (untouched) minutes to go! Again, many scenes are much further along indivially compared to the whole cut.
Co-writer Danny Bellini will be visiting the editing room this month where the first full cut will be screened.
Be on the lookout for a trailer in the new year!
Cheers!
Editing THE DRIFTER all day. Looking excellent!
About 40+ minutes of screen-time in 6 days. Not bad at all.
Cutting on the 8TB G-raid with Thunderbolt is smooth like butta
A (polished) first-cut deadline is set for November 5th.
Drifted pcitures submits it's shorts
The Drifted Pictures short-film, "If Only" is now in consideration for The International Film Festival of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles.
And don't forget, "What Comes Around" is in consideration for the NYC Downtown Film Festival in Manhattan.
Keep your fingers crossed!
Daily Drifter Photo #31
Drifter Fans,
After careful consideration and a very successful month of Daily Drifter Photos, I have decided to put the daily update on hold for the time being. Right now, the edit is the most important thing to focus on. Plus, I wouldn't want to give too much away. :)
Please continue to follow The Drifter for more post-production updates and help spread the word!
Thank you
